Hogs Gone Wild's First Dog Hunt 

In early 2010, Hogs Gone Wild had its first dog hunt to remove some hogs from an area of thick hunting land. 

Brian Nichols brought in some Tough Ol’ Texas Boys that showed us how it was done! Matt Carter, Wade Martinez and Dane Dobraski offered to help and boy did we have a Great Time ! It was the first dog hunt Grant Nichols and I had ever been on and man I was hooked !!! If you like adrenalin, you can get an overdose on this stuff! They broke me in right catching a Big Bar that was probably pushing 300 lbs bar hog right out of the shoot.

He was in some of the thickest brush you could imagine. To my amazement, once captured, they didn’t kill the beast. With the help of the dogs, they held him down, “Hog Tied” him and put him on the front of the ATV. When I asked why, they told me this way we could keep hunting and deal with processing the hog back at the house. We caught one more small hog that morning. The time spent in the woods with family and friends was incredible. We had a second dog hunt a few weeks later that yielded one more hog. Another good time had by all. The beauty of the outdoors in the early morning… the dogs working… friends laughing and cuttin’ up… it just doesn’t get any better !!!
